NORTH BRISBANE
1. Trevena Glen Farm
Activity: Animal Experience
Hands down one of the best day trips in Brisbane! A trip to the sensational Samford Valley presents treats for all ages.
Our favourite itinerary is centred around a visit to Trevena Glen Farm just 10 minutes out of the village in Mount Samson. Here you can see all the farm favourites in action and even interact with the loveable folk! There’s even the option for a 15-minute introductory horse ride. Plus, don’t leave without a visit to the 130-year-old Fig Tree which has a surprise in-store!
For a trifecta on the way home, try The Long Yard Larder to satisfy hungry bellies, for a sprinkle of magic The Store of Requirement, and a run around John Scott Park with a train-themed playground, skate park and basketball courts.
CENTRAL BRISBANE
2. GoBoat
Activity: River City Adventure
If you have a fur baby that likes to go on adventures with you, this could be a great option! Why not take a couple of hours to explore the river city by boat. Be the Captain aboard your own Danish-designed electric boat which holds up to 8 people, with your doggo welcome!

3. Museum of Brisbane
Activity: Clock Tower Tour
Do you ever feel guilty about visiting historic treasures overseas before seeing your own right here in Australia? Brisbane’s iconic Clock Tower is likely one of those. This family-friendly 15-minute tour includes a ride in one of Brisbane’s oldest working cage lifts, a look behind Australia’s largest analogue clock face and time to explore the observation platform that shares a unique perspective of the river city.
There’s plenty more to see and do at the Museum of Brisbane like artworks, exhibitions, and even tours of Brisbane City Hall. Best of all, it’s free. You must pre-book your ticket as spaces are limited.
4. Victoria Park Putt Putt

The Victoria Park precinct is perfect for meeting friends and family with its central location and diverse range of facilities suited to all ages. Simply turn up ready for fun. For primary school children, Victoria Park’s 18-hole Putt Putt Mini Golf Course is like no other you’ve experienced before, with epic views of Brisbane City and challenging terrain!
Similar value to a movie session, you’ll find Vic Park Putt Putt fills up a good part of a morning or afternoon by the time you reach the 18th hole. If you have time, explore the grounds taking in the views while the kids discover the jumping castle and giant chess boards. The Bistro also serves light snacks and meals. 5. Urban Xtreme

Perhaps in the early years you’ve made a visit to The Workshops Rail Museum Ipswich to join in the Thomas the Tank Engine fun! But with primary-aged children, they’ll see this with fresh eyes, being wowed by the 15 larger-than-life exhibition zones that showcase the various aspects of rail transport and travel. One of the highlights is the model railway of Queensland showing off the unique landscapes found within Queensland from the tropics to the outback and back to suburbia. The other would have to be the real train simulators for more hands-on fun!
With a mixture of media and engaging activities, this museum visit offers great value at just $11.50 for children and $14.50 for adults with plenty of space for a picnic or the café that offers plenty of refreshments.
