FAQs

  1. Is the track suitable for children: The lighter pack weights and achievable daily distances make the track a suitable introduction to overnight walking for children. The guidebook introduces stories along the track, many with an artful story seat for you to rest at. Many parents who’ve walked the track with children found them perfect for breaking each day’s walk into shorter sections. Children (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult.
  2. What facilities are provided: At each cabin site you’ll have access to comfortable mattresses in shared sleeping quarters, gas cooktops, saucepans, frying pans and kettles in the shared kitchen (no microwave ovens or fridge), cooking utensils. (Bring your own knives, forks, spoons, cup, plate, bowl), dining tables and stools, outdoor tables and bench seating, USB Charging stations (5 volt) for your mobile devices, heating and lights in the social hub, toilets with handwash basins, 2 outdoor showers (at Munro cabin only), Host Ranger to greet you and answer questions.
