About

Embark on an interstellar adventure through 100 years of cosmic discoveries.

Ready to journey through time and space? Outer Space: Stromlo to the Stars at the Canberra Museum + Gallery celebrates a century of Mount Stromlo Observatory's stellar achievements. From its humble beginnings to groundbreaking discoveries, this exhibition is your family's ticket to the cosmos.

Engage with immersive digital interactives, marvel at unique artifacts like the resilient Farnham Telescope, and challenge yourselves with Guide Star—a laser junk game designed especially for the exhibition. Discover the Observatory's pivotal role during World War II and be inspired by its latest astrophysical projects, including collaborations on what will be the world's largest telescope.

Don't miss Djara, a special installation exploring First Nations astronomy and the enduring connection between Indigenous Australians and the cosmos. It's a universe of wonder, learning, and fun for the whole family!
