What makes this different from just wandering a zoo is the structured daily schedule. Every 30-60 minutes there's a keeper talk, animal demonstration, or feeding opportunity—which means kids stay engaged rather than getting bored between enclosures. You'll hand-feed free-range kangaroos (9am-4:30pm daily), watch raptors swoop inches above your head in the Free Flight show, see working sheepdogs demonstrate their skills, and get close-up encounters with koalas, crocodiles, and dingoes through expert-led talks.

The newest addition is the 360-degree crocodile viewing dome where you're genuinely face-to-face with a saltwater crocodile through glass—Australia's largest apex predator from an angle most people never see. Located just minutes from Brisbane CBD, it's accessible without a full-day expedition into bushland.

Sleepy Koala Cafe – Open 10am to 2pm. Found inside the main grounds with a small takeaway style menu for lunch as well as coffee, cool drinks and snacks.

Opening Hours: Daily 9am to 5pm
Accessibility: 28 stairs are required to be climbed from the boat to the entry gates. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary was established on naturally hilly terrain. In order to maintain the integrity of the landscape, not all hills and slopes within the sanctuary are suitable for unassisted wheelchairs. Alternate routes are available for guests with limited mobility. Limited number of manual wheelchairs available for hire at Ticket Entrance. All guests who wish to hire a wheelchair will be asked to sign a liability waiver and pay a maintenance fee of $6. Accessible toilets available.
Car Parking: Free car parking is available on-site for visitors. Simply enter the sanctuary via the main gate, and you’ll find convenient parking available all day.
Family Facilities: Parents room, stroller hire $6, free wi-fi, free device charging stations.
Are there any photo opportunities: Yes, you are able to pay an additional fee for a photo with a Koala between 10am to 12.30pm.
How long do most people spend at the sanctuary: normally 3 to 4 hours is ample time to see the animals and some of the shows.
