Want to collect some cool coins? Introducing the fun world of coin collecting, children aged 5 to 12 years are invited to bring used coins to the Kids Coin Trade and 'trade' for a new coin of the same value.

Only coins can be used at the Kids Coin Trade. In the Mint Shop, cash can be exchanged for coins and cash out is also available.

  1. When is it on: Wednesday 1 & 8 October
  2. Do I need to book: Although it is free, bookings are required to secure your spot (15-minute sessions)
  3. Is an adult required to participate: Coin limits will apply, per child. A parent or guardian must always be with their child and adults are ineligible to trade coins.
  4. What type of coins: coins for trading are the same as those available during the July school holidays Kids Coin Trade.
  5. Accessibility: Actively welcomes people with access needs. Train your staff in disability awareness . Ask all visitors if there are any specific needs to be met . Welcomes and assists people who have challenges with learning, communication, understanding and behaviour. (includes people with autism, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, acquired brain injury (ABI), dyslexia and dementia) . Train your staff in communicating with people with learning or behavioural challenges. Use Plain English / easy read signage and information (includes menus and emergency information). A quiet space is available at the venue/ facility. Caters for people with sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but who would benefit from fixtures to aid balance. (This includes people using walking frames and mobility aids) . Caters for people who use a wheelchair. Have step free outdoor pathways (includes picnic areas, barbecues and shelters). Have lifts with enough space for people using a mobility aid to enter and turn around to use the lift buttons. Buttons are at accessible height. Have an accessible public toilet which is unlocked. Have a wheelchair accessible toilet / shower and change room.
