The Glow House is Messy Glow Co’s new home at Kawana Shoppingworld. Formerly the single-room Glow Wild Paint Party in Maleny, it has grown into a whole house. Families move through a glowing living room, a bubble bathroom, a garden slide room, a potion kitchen and a toy-filled bedroom, painting the walls, furniture, toys and each other with non-toxic UV glow paint. Nothing here is off-limits to paint.
Each 60-minute session starts with a 10-minute safety briefing, followed by 50 minutes of self-guided play. Every participant gets a glow bracelet. Four giant glowing paint palettes and hundreds of painting tools are spread through the rooms, plus a different messy surprise each session. Kids ride the glow slide, splash through the bubble room and mix potions in the kitchen. Adults are in it too, because everyone who enters books in and paints. Goggles, headphones and shoe covers are supplied, and the glow wash-down room takes off most of the paint before you head home.
This is sensory play at full scale. Kids get permission to make a genuine mess, and parents get an hour off from saying “don’t touch that.” Rooms and surprises change regularly, so a return visit isn’t a repeat.
Perfect for families with toddlers through to tweens who love sensory, hands-on play and can fully let go of keeping clean. It works especially well for energetic 18-month to 5-year-olds who need to move and touch everything, and for mixed-age siblings, because the self-guided rooms let each child go at their own pace. As an indoor activity, it’s a strong rainy-day or school-holiday option, and it works for playdates and private group bookings.
Not recommended for pregnant women due to the slippery environment or people with Epilepsy due to the lighting.
