Make a Treasure Tray
Let the kids get hands-on with this fun and functional craft activity! Using a colourful mix of collage materials and decorative paper, children will create their very own personalised sorting tray, perfect for tiny treasures like rocks, beads and leaves. Inspired by Micro Museum, it’s the ideal activity for Brisbane’s little collectors.
Hootin’ Owls: Studio
Birds of a feather, flock together these school holidays! Inspired by the fabulous owl collection in Precious, kids can craft their very own wise owl - or a whole parliament of them - in this drop-in creative workshop. No bookings required.
Teen Pocket Zines - Wednesday 2 & 9 July 2025
Get ready to think small and make big statements. Inspired by the matchbox collection on display in the Precious exhibition, teens will dive into the zine movement and design their own miniature zine inside a matchbox. Combining bold art and personal storytelling, these tiny booklets become powerful keepsakes full of personality and self-expression. $25* plus booking fee - suitable for ages 13+
Precious: Young Explorers Tour - Tuesdays and Thursdays
Ever wanted the Museum all to yourself? Museum of Brisbane’s exclusive Young Explorers Tour opens the doors early for an immersive, child-friendly adventure through the Precious exhibition. Kids will enjoy interactive games, get hands-on with real-life artefacts via the touch trolley, and create a special take-home artwork. $15* plus booking fee (free for accompanying adults/carers) for 6–12 years.
Adults can tag along or relax in the Fairfax Gallery while kids enjoy the guided experience.
