Child Friendly Dining

The Territory Wildlife Park (TWP) Café:  Opens daily from 9:00am to 3:00pm (during the wet season) and 4:00pm (during the dry season). It is open to the public as well as visitors to the Park. So come on down for anything from brunch to lunch and beyond.

Picnic: You are welcome to BYO picnic and eat it whilst relaxing in the picnic grounds or at many of the exhibits around the Park. A gas BBQ is available for hire.

Opening Hours: 

Car Parking: Available on-site.

Family Facilities: The Park offers one parent room at the Main Station. Both Men’s and Women’s toilets in the Main Station are fitted with baby change tables. A baby change table is also located at the Aquarium toilets.

Getting around the park: As the Park is fairly large it is advisable that if you have young children, who may not be able to walk long distances, that you bring along one of the following to assist with your experience on Park-

-Pram/stroller
-Push trike
-Bicycle & helmet
-Scooter & helmet

Even with the shuttle train, you will still be required to walk from the train stations into and through our exhibits. Strollers are available for hire at Admissions. A $5.00 hire fee applies.

Accessibility: Actively welcomes people with access needs. Accept the Companion Card. Have accessibility information and photos, including of a bathroom, room and/or floor plan on your website (can be emailed on request). Caters for people with sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but who would benefit from fixtures to aid balance. (This includes people using walking frames and mobility aids). Have grab rails in the bathroom. Provide seating in common areas including reception area. Caters for people who use a wheelchair. Have step free outdoor pathways (includes picnic areas, barbecues and shelters). Have a step free main entrance to the building and/or reception area (includes ramps or slopes with a maximum gradient of 1:14, otherwise are too steep for wheelchairs). Have step free access to the conference or function room. Have accessible seating areas in theatrette. Have an accessible public toilet which is unlocked. Have wheelchair access to amusements and activities including boats and bush trails (includes tour rides, skyways, trolley cars, flying fox, amusement rides and boating). Have at least one wheelchair accessible parking space with wheelchair accessible signage clearly displayed (International standards are 3200mm wide x 2500 mm high). Caters for people with high support needs who travel with a support person. Caters for people who are deaf or have hearing loss. Welcomes and assists people who have challenges with learning, communication, understanding and behaviour. (includes people with autism, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, acquired brain injury (ABI), dyslexia and dementia) .
