The Queenscliffe Historical Museum is a regional cultural history museum located in Queenscliff, Victoria, Australia.
A new exhibition was created for the museum's new home in the newly-built Queenscliffe Hub, Wirrng Wirrng, which opened in October 2022.
The exhibition covers the history of Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale through story-telling across three themes: Origins and Environment (including pre-European colonisation); Creating Community; Queen of Watering Places (tourism). The museum holds temporary exhibitions, the latest (2024-2025) on Swan Bay and Swan Island. A new exhibition Living in the 70's will be installed in late 2026.
Visitors can spend an hour or so in the museum, viewing displays, historical films and photographs. There is also a corner with toys for young children and a quiz for children aged from five to about 12.
The museum welcomes research inquiries, either in person or via the website.
The museum is operated and managed by volunteers. Anyone can join as a member. Members receive a monthly newsletter and a quarterly research-based eMagazine, plus discounted access to the popular monthly talks.
The museum is an incorporated body and is accredited by the Community Museum Accreditation Program (CMAP).
Parking is available in Hesse Street and the museum is accessible for people in wheelchairs. There are accessible toilets in the hub.
