About

Sensory-Friendly Orchestra Performance with Justine Clarke (For Children with Additional Needs)

Adelaide Symphony Orchestra's relaxed concert of Peter & The Wolf—specifically designed for children with sensory, communication, and learning needs and their families, in a carefully adapted sensory-friendly environment.

Narrated by Justine Clarke (Play School, acclaimed children's musician), this performance introduces orchestral music through Prokofiev's beloved story where each character is voiced by a different instrument—bird (flute), duck (oboe), cat (clarinet), Grandpa (bassoon), and wolf (horns).

What makes this relaxed:

  • Sensory-friendly environment
  • Auslan interpreted for d/Deaf audience members
  • Adjustments for children with additional needs
  • Family-friendly atmosphere understanding neurodivergent behaviours
  • Carefully developed for range of sensory/communication/learning needs

Perfect for families with children who have sensory sensitivities, autism, ADHD, or other additional needs who want to experience live orchestral music in an environment designed to accommodate them—not expect them to adapt to traditional concert rules.
