Before you set off on your adventure through the park, why not enjoy a family picnic at the shady tables? It’s the perfect spot to recharge before exploring more.

From November to March each year, you can join expert Park Rangers for an unforgettable experience with endangered marine turtles (bookings and fees apply). Whether it’s watching a majestic female lay her eggs (November–January) or seeing tiny hatchlings make their way to the sea (January–March), this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience your kids will never forget.

Just remember, these special tours have limited spots, so be sure to book early!

  1. Car Parking: Mon Repos Turtle Centre—from the park entrance at 141 Mon Repos Road, turn left on to Rookery Road and travel 750m to the Turtle Centre car park. This car park has some designated parking bays for Disability Parking Permit holders close to the Turtle Centre.

  3. What to bring: Suitable footwear for sandy beach with rocky sections, rain jacket, jumper or windcheater, water bottle, insect repellent, torches 100 lumens or less (not essential).
  4. Do I need to have a level of fitness: Moderate level to walk on the beach, up to 1.6km return journey. You’ll also need to be able to stand on uneven and soft sandy surfaces for 2hrs approx. Walk in natural light, or limited light in some sections.
