Step into the world’s largest underground sapphire tourist mine and uncover the fascinating history of the Central Queensland Sapphire Fields. On this 45-minute guided tour, you’ll walk through 440 metres of tunnel, learn how miners once searched for sapphires, and hear incredible stories of the gems that have been discovered here.

After your tour, explore the underground museum, then roll up your sleeves and try your luck fossicking with a bucket of “wash” — the friendly team will even show you how to search for your very own gem!

Back above ground, browse the air-conditioned showroom filled with stunning sapphire, opal and gemstone jewellery, loose gems, and gifts. With picnic tables, amenities, and a seasonal café, you can make it a quick visit or spend the whole day.
