Wild Adventures Await: Explore Ipswich’s Native Wonderland with the Whole Family
The Ipswich Nature Centre, located in the heart of historical Queens Park, offers a captivating experience to get up close with Australia’s native wildlife. For over 80 years, locals and visitors alike have enjoyed the opportunity to see animals on this site, and today’s Centre ranks among the finest wildlife refuges.
Beautifully landscaped gardens and exhibits mimic the local bushland, creating natural habitats for the adorable residents. Enter through the charming rotunda, built in 1891, where a gold coin donation helps support the care of the animals.
As you wander along the shaded pathways, you’ll meet iconic Aussie animals like wombats, wallabies, emus, and quolls, and explore the lively rainforest bird aviary. Kids will love the interactive barn, where they can encounter chickens, goats, and even a bull, adding a fun farmyard touch to this enriching day out.
