CONNECT WITH NATURE WHILE MEETING A COLOURFUL FAMILY OF BIRDS + NEW FARM FRIENDS!
Have a cuddle with the miniature farm animals petting zoo as part of your garden experience! Meet Alfie, the miniature micro donkey. You’ll also find babydoll sheep, miniature ponies, miniature goats, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs.
You can have your picture taken with many of their friendly birds and learn about their 700 plus exotic and Australian varieties of birds! The Bird World is home to a variety of vibrant birds from over 60 countries. Look out though they love a good resting spot 😉
The botanic gardens offer an enchanting escape from the outside world. Picnic on lush lawns overlooking the spectacular Glasshouse Mountains, wander amongst (or avoid with the littles) secluded ponds, tumbling waterfalls and towering bamboo or take the easy way with an electric buggy, available for rent. Yes please!

- Opening Hours: 9am – 4.30pm
- Accessibility: Disability accessible toilets and parking are available. Access to café, retail and aviaries are wheelchair-friendly. Parts of the gardens may be a little challenging to access via wheelchair due to the steepness of the roads. We highly recommend hiring one of our electric golf carts to transport you easily around the garden to enjoy all the sights and sounds. One of our friendly staff can also give you a lift via a buggy to and from the Aviary and Cafe, free of charge. Just ask at the counter!

- Car Parking: Ample parking. Plus 2 Tesla Connectors, up to 22kW. Available to the public.

Access to the aviary can only be obtained via a tour. An aviary tour is approximately 50 minutes.

Maleny is an absolute treasure and one that even the children appreciate. The location and views from Maleny Bird World are just magnificent and perfectly matched with the flora and fauna on show! One of the children had previously visited the Avery with his aunty and was captivated by the array of birds, he was thrilled to have the opportunity to return with his little brother and grandparent. All thoroughly enjoyed the bird experience, interacting with local and overseas species with many stopping by to rest on shoulders and heads! Black Parrots, Macau, Blue Quaker, Gouldian Finches, Peacock, and so many more varieties. Photo opportunities throughout, and a bonus was the new farm animals enclosure where we met goats, donkeys, sheep, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs. There’s lots of different spaces to explore which the kids loved. We also enjoyed a coffee and morning tea from the cafe overlooking the valley from the verandah. As the weather cools, a picnic in the gardens would be something we’d do next time we visit. Recommend for a half day family activity.
