Set Sail on a Family Adventure at the National Maritime Museum: Explore, Discover, and Play by the Harbour!
Located on the vibrant waterfront of Darling Harbour, the Australian National Maritime Museum invites families to explore a world of adventure and discovery. Kids can climb aboard historic vessels like the HMAS Onslow submarine, the naval destroyer HMAS Vampire, and the stunning replica of Captain Cook’s tall ship, HMB Endeavour. The Action Stations experience offers an interactive glimpse into life at sea, bringing the drama of naval history to life.
Inside, six permanent galleries and a rotating selection of temporary exhibitions captivate curious minds with stories of shipwrecks, exploration, and migration. The museum’s hands-on displays and engaging activities provide fun learning experiences for all ages, ensuring every visit is a new adventure.
The fun doesn’t stop there—Mini Mariners and Seaside Strollers offer creative guided tours with themed playtime for the little ones, while older kids can dive into art at Kids on Deck, where they can discover, create, and get hands-on with printmaking, sculpture, and painting. With engaging activities both indoors and out, the museum is the perfect place for families to learn and play together.
