Step Back in Time at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum!
Discover the prehistoric wonders of the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum, perched atop the stunning Jump-Up mesa near Winton, Queensland. This renowned museum is dedicated to preserving Australia’s fossil heritage, offering a unique blend of science and adventure. Explore the Fossil Preparation Laboratory, the Collection Room, and Dinosaur Canyon, home to life-sized dinosaur dioramas and the “March of the Titanosaurs” exhibition.
Kids friendly activities ensure a family visit is a great experience:
- During the school holidays children visiting the Museum will receive a Museum Field Guide to complete during their visit.
- Play some puzzles and games in the Laboratory Waiting Room and make your very own Pressed Penny Dinosaur!
- While enjoying a coffee at the café, get your kids to answer the age-old question “What is your favourite dinosaur?” They can then draw it on the Reception Centre chalk board.
- The Museum site is the perfect place to practise photography skills as there are many birds, insects, animals and plants plus interesting buildings and rock formations – plus the dinosaur fossils, of course.
Don’t miss the Gondwana Stars Observatory for a cosmic twist! Tours run daily, starting at 9am, with full and half options available. Arrive early to enjoy a refreshing drink at the Cretaceous Café before your journey back in time.
