Discover two incredible spaces! The Sydney Modern Project has transformed the gallery into two inspiring buildings, connected by a public art garden, making it even more exciting to explore with kids. The newly named Naala Badu (seeing waters) and Naala Nura (seeing country) offer a mix of classic masterpieces and contemporary creativity.
🎨 Hands-on fun for kids! The Gallery offers family-friendly events and activities throughout the year, including interactive art experiences, workshops, and school holiday programs designed to ignite young imaginations. Child Friendly Dining
The Gallery Cafe: Open daily from 10am to 4pm. The cafe serves a selection of dishes suitable for all-day dining, including pastries, cakes, snacks, salads and sandwiches complemented by a selection of coffee, soft drinks, wine and beer. The food is fresh, homemade where possible, and showcases seasonal produce from local community-focused producers and artisan suppliers.
Kiosk: Take away food and beverages are available. Each item on the menu is curated by Indigenous Elder Aunty Beryl Van-Oploo, features native Australian ingredients.

- Opening Hours: Daily 10am to 5pm. Closed Christmas Day and Good Friday.
- Admission: Admission to the Art Gallery is free, with tickets required for select exhibitions.
- Car Parking: Meter parking – On Mrs Macquaries Road and other streets around the Art Gallery. Parking stations – There are several car parks near the Art Gallery. The closest are the Domain Car Park and The Wharf, Woolloomooloo Car Park, both of which can be booked in advance online. Note changes to access from the Domain Car Park: The lift closest to the Art Gallery is not operational as it is being replaced by Wilson Parking There are stairs, and the car park’s south lift remains operational.
- Family Facilities: There are baby change tables on all these levels as part of the toilet facilities. A parents and carers room is located on lower level 1, near the cafe.
- Accessibility: Actively welcomes people with access needs. Accept the Companion Card. Employ people with disability . Ask all visitors if there are any specific needs to be met .
