Founder wins Bronze for Digital Innovation/Technology

2023 Award Winner Digital Innovation

Melissa Soutar, Founder of SPARK POP, has been announced as the bronze recipient of the Digital Innovation/Technology at the 2023 AusMumpreneur Awards.

The AusMumpreneur Awards, presented by The Women’s Business School, celebrates and recognizes mothers in business achieving outstanding success in areas such as business excellence, product development, customer service and digital innovation. The awards are designed to recognize the growing number of women who successfully balance motherhood and business in a way that suits their life and family.

Mother of two boys, 7yrs and 4yrs, Melissa was fed up with the clutter and the overwhelm of trying to contain it. After filling a wheelie bin nearly to the brim with broken toys and having 3 birthday parties to go to in a short time period, Melissa went in search of an experience gift that her children could gift to their friends. After discovering no current solution available, there was no other option than to create the platform herself. SPARK POP is a platform that supports and fosters family connection, creating memories, challenging children and enjoying all our world has to offer.

Melissa was excited to be recognized in this category because “Since launching in October 2022 I’ve dedicated everything to creating this platform, not only for parents and their children who want more connection, more fun, more adventure, but to help support a healthier planet. This is an incredible milestone for the business, my family and me personally.  It’s also wonderful that SPARK POP is being recognised as a platform to serve our growing community of locally owned experience operators, now in excess of 100, and our amazing customers. To be awarded among other successful platforms like Shebah Rideshare and Unique Starshine is such a thrill and just shows that if you dare to dream, you can do it.”

It can be challenging to be a successful businesswoman whilst raising a family and Melissa gives this advice for others thinking about starting their own enterprise. ”It’s important to remember we can’t be what we can’t see, and as mums, we’re one of the most influential people in our children’s lives. Think big, reach for the stars, and you’ll be surprised what you can achieve.

What’s next? SPARK POP continues to expand its partnership with activities, attractions and tours in Australian capital cities to bring you more things to do and gift. A SPARK POP App is in development while we remain focused on creating a platform that fosters connection, creating memories, challenging children and enjoying all our world has to offer.
