1. Tropical Fruit World

Nestled in the lush Tweed Valley, Tropical Fruit World is a must-visit for families. It’s just off the highway inland from Cabarita Beach, and makes for a colourful and fun half day out in nature. This unique family-owned farm offers a delightful journey through acres of exotic fruit trees. Kids will love the guided tractor tour, where they can taste freshly picked tropical fruits and learn about the diverse varieties grown on the farm. The mini-train ride, animal park, and fruit-themed playground ensure a fun-filled day for the whole family!

2. Byron Bay Kayak

Byron Bay is famous for its stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters, and what better way to experience them than by kayak? Take the kids on a guided kayak tour, where they can paddle alongside dolphins, sea turtles, and even whales (in season). The tours are suitable for all ages and skill levels, making it a fantastic adventure for the entire family. Cape Byron Marine Park is home to nearly 1,000 bottlenose dolphins, so there’s a great chance you’ll catch a glimpse when out off Cape Byron!

3. Catch a Crab on the Tweed

Head to the picturesque Tweed River for a unique and educational experience with Catch a Crab. Kids will be thrilled to board a boat and learn how to catch mud crabs, pump for yabbies, and fish. The eco-certified tour also includes a visit to an oyster farm, where families can sample fresh oysters. Best times to catch crab in the region are the warmer months of September to May with December to February the peak season.

This boat tour is ideal for 4 year olds and older, offering an up-close encounter with one of nature’s most playful creatures. 7. Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek Rail Trail

Conveniently located at the start of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail, you’ll find Better By Bike has everything you need for the whole family to enjoy the day.
