Ignite curiosity & discovery!

Step inside the historic Honeysuckle Railway workshops and uncover a world of stories, science, and industry at Newcastle Museum—a place where imagination takes flight and history comes to life!

With three major permanent exhibitions, there’s something to captivate every visitor. A Newcastle Story showcases the city’s natural environment and diverse communities, while Fire and Earth delves into the powerhouse industries that shaped the Hunter region. Supernova, a hands-on science and engineering space, invites kids (and kids at heart!) to explore, experiment, and play with interactive exhibits that make learning fun.

Beyond its free permanent exhibits, the Museum keeps things fresh with temporary and travelling exhibitions—from blockbuster showcases to community-driven displays, there’s always something new to explore. A visit here isn’t just a history lesson—it’s an adventure into the past, present, and future!
