Tasting Train - Departs Thursdays Gympie to Amamoor (Return)

Heritage Railmotor RM2000 departs Gympie Station for a 40km journey winding through the hills of the Mary Valley to arrive in the quaint town of Amamoor. Here you can watch the train prepare for the return journey via the turntable and enjoy a short stay to explore before returning to the Station for lunch at the Rusty Rails Cafe.

On board, tantalise your tastebuds with a tasting plate of delicious, locally grown foods and learn about the mouth-watering Mary Valley produce from volunteer guides who also provide a wealth of historical detail about the train and the region as you sit back and enjoy the views.

On your return a delicious two course lunch is served at the Historic Gympie Station in the lovingly restored Rusty Rails Cafe. A beverage of choice is included (beer, wine, soft drink) with additional bar service available. 

Main - Caribbean chicken with ancient grains and mango salsa.

Dessert - White chocolate and coconut mousse with tropical fruit.

The RM2000 Railmotor has the capacity to accommodate two wheelchairs on board. Please contact us on (07) 5482 2750 to ensure availability for your travel date before booking. Please note ramp access is available please mention in your notes if ramp access is required.

Tips for the trip!

Check in at the Tour Desk at least 45 minutes before departure so you can see the train pull into the station, chat with the volunteer drivers and guides, explore the historic Gympie Station and enjoy the diverse menu at the Rusty Rails Café. Make sure you bring your camera!

Booking Notes

·       If you require ramp assistance, please notify us when you book or make note in our online special requirements!

·       If you are travelling with another party on a different booking, please note this in special requirements at time of booking by entering "Travelling with...." to assist us in seating you together.

·       Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult. 

·      Children under 2 years of age not occupying a seat travel free, however if you would like a guaranteed seat for your child under 2, please book as a child fare. Please ensure you note all children travelling under 2 at time of booking.
